Our Call for Papers is now open!

“AI starts with data!” is the motto of our upcoming AOUG User Conference on May 12-13, 2025, which we will be holding again this year above the rooftops of Vienna @ The Stage at Tech Gate Vienna. This opens up a wide range of topics for our event and we look forward to your personal contribution to the following main topics:

Data integration and management

A central topic in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) is the integration and management of data. Data is the foundation for any AI application and it is crucial that it is correctly integrated and managed to achieve reliable results. The conference could include presentations on data quality, data warehousing, ETL processes (extraction, transformation, loading) and data governance.

Automation through AI

Another important topic is the automation of business processes through the use of AI. This could involve the implementation of AI-driven automation solutions in Oracle databases, such as predictive maintenance, automatic data cleansing and query process optimization. Presentations could focus on integrating AI tools into existing systems and increasing efficiency through automation.

Machine learning and analytics

Machine learning and advanced analytics are core components for leveraging AI in databases. The conference could include sessions on the implementation of ML algorithms, data-driven decision making and the use of Oracle Machine Learning (OML). This includes the development and training of models, their deployment and continuous improvement.

Security and data protection

As the use of AI and ML increases, so does the need to protect sensitive data and comply with privacy policies. The conference should address topics such as data security, anonymization, data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR) and ethical issues related to the use of AI. Presentations could highlight best practices and technologies for protecting data in AI projects.

Use cases and implementation strategies

Practical use cases and implementation strategies are essential to illustrate the benefits of AI in the Oracle database technology environment. The conference could present success stories and case studies from different industries showing the use of AI in real-life scenarios. This could include the implementation strategies and best practices for successfully launching and scaling AI projects. Through these key topics, the conference will provide a comprehensive understanding of how AI and ML can be used in the Oracle Database technology environment to develop innovative solutions and drive data-driven decisions.

Data ethics and governance

An increasingly important topic is the ethical use of data and compliance with governance policies. Presentations in this category could focus on the importance of privacy, compliance and ethical considerations when using AI and data. Customer projects can be used to demonstrate how companies are overcoming these challenges and ensuring that their data practices are transparent and responsible.

    16.03.2025: Determination of the presentations & feedback on your submission

Please use the form from the download section of this page. For publication (mailings and information for conference participants in the conference folders), we also need a suitable photo of you and your company logo as well as the link where we can place your company logo - please send us everything at the same time as the form to (call4papers@aoug.at). We would like to point out that only those entries will be shortlisted that expressly agree to the copyright-free publication of the content on the invitation and in the AOUG media (download file for the presentation, video recording during the conference if applicable). You will receive the decision of the expert jury by March 16, 2025 and then information about the final program of our conference.
